RDFC Grant Recipients Announced
2025 Applications Due Sept. 30
January 2025
BEK Communications Cooperative is a member of the Rural Development Finance Corporation (RDFC). As a result, communities in our service area are eligible to apply for a grant of up to $3,000 for community-based projects through the RDFC.
The following organizations have been selected as recipients of RDFC grants:
Hope Development Corporation, Inc - $1,000
The development corporation operates the Hope Community Café, which will use the grant funds to purchase and install a commercial dishwasher. The new dishwasher will enhance meal service efficiency, support local job opportunities, aid in senior meal deliveries, and help provide nutritious food options for the community.
Strasburg Park Board - $1,000
This grant will help pay for the cost of concrete for replacement of poles for the tennis and pickle ball nets and updated basketball backboards and hoops. The park board will also add a throwing pit for discus and shot put for the school track students to use.
Wishek Senior Center - $500
This grant will be used to purchase a new refrigerator. The Senior Center serves more than 900 meals each month to the communities of Wishek and Lehr. The new refrigerator has more room and helps the Senior Center fulfill their needs for the amount of service they are providing.
Zeeland Community Hall - $500
This grant will be used to purchase lumber to construct a new accessible ramp.
The next round of applications will be accepted mid-February through September 30. Visit https://www.bek.coop/coop/grants to learn more and to apply.
